Everything You Need to Plan a Container Load

From uploading your product database to getting instant go/no-go results with detailed stacking analysis.

Upload Your Product Database
Import any Excel or CSV file with your material codes, dimensions, weight and CBM. Column names are detected automatically.
Full Pallet Support
Select from 9 international pallet standards including EUR/EPAL, GMA, Asian and custom sizes. Pallet weight is included in payload calculations.
Smart Stacking Rules
Heavy items over 50 kg stay floor-only. Tall items over 1.5 m block stacking above. Multi-pallet bin packing distributes items across pallets automatically.
Instant Visual Results
Container illustration turns green when the load fits, red when it doesn't. Volume utilisation bar updates in real time as you type.
Custom Loading Rules
Define up to 10 custom rules such as max pallet height, max floor pressure, max weight per pallet, or fragile item thresholds.
Saves Your Data
Your product database and custom rules are saved automatically in your browser. No account needed. Works completely offline.

How It Works

Get from product list to container load plan in four simple steps.

1
Upload Your Product Database
Go to Master Data and upload your Excel file containing material codes, dimensions, CBM and gross weight. Saved automatically in your browser.
2
Set Your Loading Rules
Configure custom rules such as max pallet height, weight limits or fragile item handling. Universal logistics rules are always applied automatically.
3
Select Container and Pallet
In the Calculator tab, choose your container type (20ft, 40ft, 40HC, 45HC) and your pallet standard. Dimensions and capacities are shown instantly.
4
Enter Items and Get Results
Paste your material codes and enter quantities. The calculator instantly shows if your load fits, with volume utilisation, weight, and per-pallet breakdown.

Built-In Universal Loading Rules

These logistics and safety rules are always enforced automatically. No configuration needed.

Items heavier than 50 kg cannot have anything placed on top of them.
Items taller than 1.5 m cannot have anything placed on top regardless of weight.
Total cargo CBM must not exceed the container internal volume capacity.
Total cargo weight must not exceed the container maximum payload rating.
Floor-only items must collectively fit within the container floor area.
When pallets are used, each pallet load must not exceed its rated max load capacity.
Individual item dimensions must not exceed the internal container dimensions.
Combined pallet height plus cargo height must fit within container height.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about using the container load calculator.

Is this tool really free?
Yes, completely free with no signup, no account, and no usage limits. The calculator runs entirely in your browser.
What format should my Excel file be in?
Any Excel (.xlsx) or CSV file with columns for material code, length, width, height, area, CBM and gross weight. Column names are detected automatically so the exact header names do not matter.
Does my data get sent to a server?
No. All calculations happen entirely in your browser. Your product database and rules are stored locally on your device using browser storage. Nothing is ever uploaded to any server.
Can I use this on my phone or tablet?
Yes. The tool is fully responsive and works on iPhone, iPad and Android. On iPhone you can add it to your home screen from Safari for an app-like experience that works offline.
What is the difference between floor-only and stackable items?
Items heavier than 50 kg or taller than 1.5 m are floor-only — they must be placed directly on the container floor or pallet with nothing on top. Lighter and shorter items can be stacked vertically to maximise space.
How does the pallet calculation work?
The calculator simulates placing each item unit onto pallets one by one. Each pallet is filled to its height and weight limit before the next pallet is opened. It shows you exactly how many pallets are needed and the stack height and weight for each one.
